The lymphatic system is responsible for toxins being released from our bodies and are an important part of our immune system. The health and importance of the lymphatic system are completely underrated and overlooked in my opinion. Once this system suffers it can have a knock on effect to the rest of our bodies, after all, all our body systems are so intricately linked. Parts of our lymphatic system includes, the spleen, tonsils, lymph nodes, thymus and bone marrow.
Lymph fluid circulates our bodies in a similar way to blood. Blood gets pumped around our bodies by our heart, the lymph on the other hand relies on movement from our muscles. The lymphatic system is designed to transport waste, toxins and fluid out of our bodies through our lymph nodes. It helps with swellings and fluid build up, it fights infections and bacteria, transports nutrients from our small intestine to our blood and it absorbs and transports fatty acid from the digestive system. Massage can help with stimulation of the lymph and help keep your lymphatic system healthy.
Massage is not a luxury it should be part of a healthy lifestyle regime.
